About CAP

In the summer of 2006, two elementary school-aged girls were accosted on a school playground in Redmond, Washington. The mother of those girls asked for help, and other mothers rallied around her.

Mothers Against Sex Predators [MASP] formed, working to raise awareness of the issues that came to light as a result of that situation. We contacted our legislators to try and fix gaps in current law. In the course of that effort, we realized how very much work there is to do in this area, and we decided to keep working at it.

In 2007, we answered requests to start chapters in other states. At that time MASP went national, and formed a very active chapter in California. We also began focusing on education - empowering kids and educating parents on what needs to happen to keep kids, families, and communities safe.

In November of 2007, Mothers Against Sex Predators changed their name to Communities Against Predators, to be more representative of the individuals that support us.

CAP is getting remodeled

We're wrapping up our application for non-profit, 501(c)(3) status, forming a Board of Advisors, firming up the job descriptions of our Directors, and getting our infrastructure organized.

Check back in the next few weeks, and we'll have it all here.
