  • May 12, 2008
    Colorado Communities Against Predators is created

    As a result of unfortunate events, the community of Parachute, Colorado decided to organize a chapter of Communities Against Predators for the purpose of educating the families and children on how they can protect themselves from predatory crime.
  • May 27, 2008
    Garfield County Sheriff is hosting a public awareness meeting.

    6:30 PM at the Battlement Mesa Activity Center,
    398 Arroyo Drive, Parachute.
    Provided education to the community about registered sex offenders.
  • June 3, 2008
    First public meeting of Colorado CAP

    Concerned citizens attended the first meeting of Colorado CAP. Discussions on upcoming events and efforts, as well as education on security.
  • August 5, 2008
    National Night Out Against Crime

    CAP will work with local law enforcement, and will distribute Take 25 materials from NCMEC.

Colorado CAP Events

    CAP met with
    • Parachute Parks & Recreation
    • School Board of Parachute, CO
    • Parachute Mayor, and
    • Concerned citizens
      to discuss what can be done to deal with predators loitering around children.
  • June, 2008
    CAP had its first community meeting to talk about child safety in the community and at home and to plan upcoming Take 25 events and awareness programs.

    Colorado CAP participates in National Night Out Against Crime
